A demo should answer a question
If discovery revealed a handoff problem, showing every feature is unlikely to help the buyer assess fit. Use AI to organize the notes into the current task, desired change and evidence the buyer needs. Then build a short demonstration around that task.
Start with the buyer's words. Do not replace them with your product vocabulary. "We chase missing information" is a more useful starting point than "You need an intelligent workflow layer" unless the buyer has actually framed the requirement that way.
Build three demonstration moments
| Moment | What to show | What to explain |
|---|---|---|
| Input | The information entering the workflow | Which sources are real or illustrative |
| Assistance | A relevant draft, answer or recommendation | What the system does and does not decide |
| Completion | Review, handoff or proposed action | Who approves and what requires a connection |
Use sanitized or synthetic data. Never put a different client's information into a demo to make it more convincing.

A preparation prompt
From these discovery notes, propose three demo moments tied to the buyer's stated task. For each, identify the buyer question, input, visible output, human responsibility and capability that needs confirmation. Do not add requirements the buyer did not mention. Mark unsupported product claims as questions for our technical owner.
Worked example
A buyer wants fewer incomplete service requests. Show an incomplete request, the missing fields identified and a prepared clarification for review. Do not imply that the system has sent the reply or changed the scheduling system unless those actions genuinely occur in the demonstrated setup.
If a screen is a concept or a simulation, say so. A demo is still useful when it makes an intended workflow understandable without claiming it is already connected to the buyer's systems.
Confirm fit during the demo
Pause after each moment. Ask, "Would this output give your next person what they need?" and "What would be missing in your environment?" Record the answer. The buyer should be able to challenge the workflow, not merely watch it.
Leave with an evaluation plan
Summarize the requirements confirmed, open questions, data needed and next owner. Separate an agreed next step from your suggested next step. The next meeting should have a purpose beyond another demonstration. Continue with mutual action planning.
Try a demo storyboard before opening the product
Write three rows on a page: buyer question, moment shown and decision helped. An illustrative buyer might ask, "Will the next person receive a complete request?" The moment shown is a request with missing information, followed by a reviewed clarification and a handoff. The decision helped is whether the proposed output is sufficient for the receiving team.
Ask the assistant to critique the storyboard for unrelated features. If a screen does not answer a buyer question, remove it or move it to an optional follow-up. This often produces a shorter and more useful demonstration than asking AI to create a comprehensive product tour.
Questions to settle before the meeting
- Which parts are live, configured behavior and which are illustrative?
- What data can be shown to this audience?
- Who will answer technical questions you cannot verify?
- What specific feedback do you need from the buyer?
Prepare a plain-language response for an unavailable capability: "That action is not part of this demonstration. We need to confirm the connection and scope before promising it." A truthful boundary helps the buyer evaluate fit. After the meeting, update the storyboard with what the buyer challenged. The next demo should reflect the new information rather than repeat the same sequence with a different account name.
Put it to work with your team
Choose one permitted example and try the method before expanding it. Use the sales AI workflow pilot guide to define your baseline and review criteria. Request a tailored demo to discuss how SimplSales and current SimplBrain knowledge could support your sales workflow. Your proposal confirms the work, data handling and any system connections; your team remains responsible for buyer commitments.
